some, twingo's for your time.
I've been working as a mechanical design engineer at a small machinery manufacturer for 4 months on a grad placement, then 3 months probation for the real job. After the probation I'm supposed to get a raise and be an all round engineering badass. I was told today, that after my probation I'm only employed on a month by month basis and they are considering redundancies on a last in first out basis, that means me. The company is experiencing financial difficulties and I reckon I'll be out soon.
Thanks for listening.

Sorry to hear. All I can advise you is don't quit unless you got something else lined up and work on your resume in the meantime.

Thanks, I wont quit as I like working here but I gotta find another way to pay the bills because I'm not getting that raise now. I'm just a little spooked by the lack of job security.

This isn't the worst situation in the world. At least they are giving you some ample time to search for something else. Once you do, it sounds like it will be a "no hard feelings" parting of ways.
